First Canadian Centre located in the Calgary downtown core on the busy Stephen Ave was built in 1981, the building was acquired in 2010 by GWL Realty Advisors who were looking for a solution to the emissions and fuel usage levels the building was currently operating at. GWL considered many options and when decided on the solution to retrofit the current boilers Tundra had a solution ready for GWL. Tundra using Cleaver-Brooks products replaced the burners and added advanced controls to two existing boilers the results were lower emissions and fuel costs. The retrofit made such a significant change that DWL Realty Advisors was awarded the President’s Award for Sustainability from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Calgary.
